These Cities Are Narrowing Their Home Supply-Demand Gap

Nearly 90% of major U.S. metros have narrowed the housing supply-demand gap by issuing more single-family building permits. Boulder, Colorado, showed the most progress with an 89% decrease in its housing shortage index. About 45% of markets now have a balanced index, up from 20% last year. However, Urban Honolulu still faces the largest deficit, issuing one permit per 14 new jobs despite recent improvements.
