More than 2 million acres of local land in inland NorCal designated as ‘high’ or ‘very high’ fire danger areas

Over 2.3 million acres in Northern California are now classified as facing "high" or "very high" wildfire danger due to climate change. Updated state maps will enforce stricter building standards in these areas. While some regions saw increased hazard acreage, others experienced reductions. New ember-resistant zone regulations are being developed to improve fire safety.
